Susan founded Midwest Nest magazine in 2017 and operated the magazine until 2023.
Midwest Nest Magazine won several awards on the local and national levels, including the 2020 Niche Award for Best Niche Rising Star, won by publisher Susan Hozak, and the 2020 Best Niche Promotion or Contest, won for the annual Design Challenge. Each year, Midwest Nest won an ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation of North Dakota, including three silver awards during its first year of publication. We have also been honored with over 40 awards from the North Dakota Professional Communicators and National Federation of Press Women, including 15 first-place awards which advanced to national competitions.
Susan grew up in a military family and has lived in places all over the world including Spain and Germany. She has lived in Fargo since 1999 and loves the culture, people, and growth Fargo has been experiencing. Hozak is also the Marketing Director and Office Manager at Friendly Smiles Cosmetic Dentistry.
