Susan is Midwest Nest’s publisher and owner. She graduated from Minnesota State University Moorhead with a BS, and then from the University of Mary, Fargo Center, with an MBM.
Midwest Nest Magazine is a monthly print and online publication based in Fargo, N.D. The publication features content and photography focused on local culture, entertaining and home design. Find it in print at major grocery stores in Fargo, Moorhead, West Fargo, and Grand Forks, plus in racks at over a dozen prominent business distribution locations. Midwest Nest’s team is actively involved in community and charitable events with special distribution at select events throughout the year.
Midwest Nest Magazine has won several awards on the local and national levels, including the 2020 Nichee Award for Best Niche Rising Star, won by our publisher Susan Hozak, and the 2020 Best Niche Promotion or Contest, won for the annual Design Challenge. Each year, Midwest Nest has won an ADDY Award from the American Advertising Federation of North Dakota, including three silver awards during its first year of publication. We have also been honored with over 40 awards from the North Dakota Professional Communicators and National Federation of Press Women, including 15 first-place awards which advanced to national competitions.
Susan grew up in a military family and has lived in places all over the world including Spain and Germany. She has lived in Fargo since 1999 and loves the culture, people, and growth Fargo has been experiencing. Hozak is also the Marketing Director and Office Manager at Friendly Smiles Cosmetic Dentistry. She is currently on the Leadership Council of The 100,inc., a stellar collaboration of Fargo-Moorhead area Presidents, CEOs, owners and business leaders.
